Garfield: The Truth About Cats
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Author: Jim Davis
Average review score:

A manual for cat owners.
What a cute little book. Each page has its own cartoon about cat owning rules. And I tell ya 99% of them are true. I don't have a cat myself but my aunt has 2 and everytime I'm there this book is proven to be acurate at least 10 times. Things like 'The Most Comfortable spot for a cat to nap-is any spot you were about to occupy' ring true as well as 'Cats need their space-and your space too'. I totally dig cats AND Garfield. And if you do too then get this book.

A must read for all cat lovers!
Oh, I just love Garfield. Only someone who has lived with cats many years can sometimes understand Jim Davis' humor. Every comic strip has truth behind it. Even when presented with Garfield's wicked sense of humor, a cat lover can see the every day life with a cat. Very fun, very true, and a definite must read for all cat lovers!

Gas Saver's Reference: A New Approach to the World of Fuel Economy
Published in Paperback by Whitehorse (April, 1991)
Author: G. J. Davis
Average review score:

The Return of a Fuel Economy Classic
[The Return of an Out-of-Print Fuel Economy Classic]:
This controversial publication first appeared in April 1991, when the United States of America was still entangled in the Gulf War. The disruption of imported fuel supplies from the Middle East was a possibility. Car owners, cites, and the nation were once again concerned about fuel economy. It was a sobering wake-up call, just like the Arab Oil Embargo in 1974, when fuel was rationed in the United States for months. A well-organized no-nonsense reference work was needed on fuel economy.

Following its release, the book quickly gained popularity in the library and car owner marketplace. Book reviewers and purchasers (librarians, radio talk show hosts, car owners, etc.) expressed positive opinions.

The book carefully evaluated the subject of fuel economy from several perspectives. To this day, no publication has covered the field as exhaustively as this reference does. The 5.5x8.5 format contains 134 pages with several illustrations. It is one-of-a kind.

Gas Saver's Reference
guides the reader toward higher fuel economy
by bringing together:
the research, the technology, the world of fuel economy information,
a logical step-by-step plan,
and much more
into one comprehensive volume.

Gas saver's reference theories.
The book covers some of the ideas of the turn of the century for saving fuel in the automobile. The worlds milage record, 6409 mpg; Toyota's AXV car, 120 mpg, and in the late 1930's, 130 mpg. These are some of the milage accomplishments achieved and addressed in the book. Much ado about some government conspiracy, and industrial espionage at the end. Offeres very few pictures, and drawings of gas saving devices. Educational, but boring reading.

Generals in Khaki
Published in Hardcover by Ivy House Publishing Group (March, 1999)
Authors: Henry Blaine Davis and Henry, S.J. Davis
Average review score:

Outstanding
Mr. Davis' book is an inspiring yet very personal account of the men charged with fighting one of history's bloodiest wars. Filled with interesting facts and accounts of the generals' lives, this book is the closest thing we have (and may ever have) to really knowing these great men.

A very hard-to-put- down reference text - totally unique!
This is the only book of it's kind - all the generals of WW1 - there is a picture and short bio of each. Henry Davis has written a book that has filled a niche for any one with an interest in American Military history!

Getting Involved With God: Rediscovering the Old Testament
Published in Paperback by Cowley Publications (September, 2001)
Author: Ellen F. Davis
Average review score:

Engaging writing that connects the reader to the OT
In a very personal and engaging way, Ellen Davis challenges misconceptions about the Old Testament and successfully prods the reader to participate in a spiritually engaged reading of the Old Testament.

Fresh insight into the OT
Dr. Davis' book is not an exhaustive commentary, but a series of reflections on selected texts of the Hebrew Scriptures. It is an excellent source for delving into the wisdom of the Old Testament for both novices and the learned. While written from the perspective of a believing Christian, her commentary is heavily influenced by her extensive experience in dialog with Rabbinic Judaism and its texts. Especially intriguing is her commentary on the Ecological Crisis and the imperatives found in the Scriptures to act as good stewards of the land.

The Gist of Genetics: Guide to Learning and Review
Published in Paperback by Jones & Bartlett Pub (January, 1998)
Authors: Rowland H. Davis and Stephen G. Weller
Average review score:

Really the gist of genetics
In my sophomore genetics class we used two textbooks. One is a 600 pages textbook filled with colorful pictures, the other one is the this book. After I spent hours reading and comprehending a chapter in the 600-pages tiny-font textbook, I turned to the 200-pages large-font Gist of Gennetics. And there it is, truly the gist of genetics. I regretted that I didn't read this book first but instead wasted my valuable time reading useless [junk]. The only problem is that this book is entirely black and white, with little to no picture (only has genetic diagrams). But unless you are the type who fall asleep reading b/w textbooks, this is a great book for quick understanding of basic genetics.

Excellent book...explains major concepts very clearly.

Global Critical Race Feminism: An International Reader (Critical America)
Published in Paperback by New York University Press (July, 2000)
Authors: Adrien Katherine Wing and Angela Y. Davis
Average review score:

Comprehensive
This is a comprehensive, compelling collection sure to become a classic in sociology, anthropology, education political science, psychology and law. As diverse and intricate as the lives of women of color are, so are the essays included in this reader. It is truly powerful!

An Important Contribution
Although Global Critical Race Feminism is a rich reference work useful in the creation of scholarship, it is also a must for anyone interested in social justice. Taken together, the thoughtful and reader-friendly essays are context-specific and avoid generalizations, but at the same time show that ethnic and sexual oppression are not merely isolated aberrations but worldwide structural problems that deserve serious attention.

God Wants Your Body: Discovering God's Will for Your Life
Published in Audio Cassette by Oasis Audio (July, 2000)
Author: Ken Davis
Average review score:

Great speaker, very funny
Mr. Davis mixes his humor in with his serious message very well in this cassette. In this tape Ken describes how God wants you for his own even though you may not think so. He describes how God wants you to follow his will in everything you do and say and he mixes it in with some very funny stories about himself and his family, people he knows as friends or just people he's met due to his being a speaker for many years. I highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you are struggling with your walk with Christ.

Ken Davis' hilarious, warm style brings out a great message
In "God Wants Your Body," Ken Davis leads the watcher of this video to the incredible message for Christians found in Romans 12: 1-2. (Obviously I am referring to the Bible.) Ken Davis shows the message of this passage, which is: God is telling those who have trusted in Jesus exactly how to know just what God wants from you. Anyone who is a Christian but has, and perhaps still does, struggle to know God's will, should see this video.
